Agnes Granada

Granada is Coordinator of Earth Action Trust and a self-appointed Basurera (female garbage collector in her native language of Tagalog). She immigrated to New Zealand in 1988 from the Philippines. She is a life member of the Auckland University Students Association where she worked in the finance department for 11 years. Her time at the University was the catalyst for her becoming involved with non-profit organisations. In 2002 she co-founded Migrant Action Trust and became a community advocate and worker. In June 2014 she resigned from Migrant Action Trust to start Earth Action Trust.
Granada believes that the environmental issues should be also be taken into account, along with social, cultural, economic and political issues, when coming up with solutions to combat social injustice in New Zealand.
Vina Chen

Vina Chen

Operation Support

Vina is originally from China but has lived in New Zealand for over 15 years. She has a wealth of experience in project management and financial administration in a non-profit setting. Always willing to learn about the migrant sector and the indigenous, she’s managed a few projects whilst at Migrant Action Trust, participated in EAT’s migrant focussed environmental activities. She is treasurer of the Tangata Tiriti – Treaty People Inc.

Currently, she runs an accounting practice to help non-profits with their accounting and financial concern as well as help migrants who wants to go into business as sole trader or a company.

Sindy Xian

Sindy Xian

Program Lead

Sindy migrated with family from China at the age of 14. She has abundant experience understanding people’s mindset and also engagement with the various ethnic communities. She has been actively involved in many environmental programs from 2019.

She wishes to make an impact on living a sustainable life.
